Photo greeting cards are one of the key stationery products offered by House of Serendipity CA. With that in mind, I am taking my readers on a brief journey on how one of our Everyday greeting cards came into being.

This greeting card used for the purpose of sending Everyday greetings features some bright and colorful flowers and wildflowers that were found in one of the largest cities in the world, New York City. Is it surprising to find a greeting card featuring some flowers found in New York City of all places? That would depend on who you would ask. After all, this is the place that is known as the city that never sleeps. And they would be right. Weekends are known to start as early as Thursday on some occasions and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes that are open well into the early morning hours.

However, there are plenty of opportunities for the floral and nature enthusiasts in the city as well. Those who know this city well would know that there is practically a corner convenience store on every other block that has dozens of floral bouquets for sale. Tulips. Roses. Irises. Carnations. Gladiolus. They are all there.

Would you prefer cherry blossoms or the magnificent magnolias? Then, all one would have to do is take a quick trip to one of the many parks, both big and small, that are scattered throughout the city. Central Park, one of the grandest parks in the world, should have plenty of magnolias and cherry blossoms in bloom by the early spring season as well as plenty of trails and paths for walking and exercising purposes. Meanwhile, the smaller Washington Square Park, which is in Greenwich Village, also offers an abundance of opportunities to view and admire cherry blossoms in the spring.

Then there are the flowers that are more difficult to find or the florals that are found in the most unexpected of places. This is the latter. I found this group of colorful flowers during a stroll through New York City.

Located in a white planter that was placed in front of a trendy and contemporary clothing store, I was immediately drawn to the contrast shown between the white planter and the colorful flowers. I was also intrigued by the different mix of flowers and wildflowers. Furthermore, in addition to the bright pink and purple blossoms, there were also plenty of leaves and foliage that filled this plant container to the brim. The pronounced distinction in color between the flowers and the leaves was another reason why I gravitated towards these flowers. Ultimately, it was the many different types of contrasts that could be found in this floral image that eventually led me to the decision to create this greeting card.

The chances of finding such delicate florals in this gritty city known more for its concrete buildings and skyscrapers than its botanical scene is quite slim. Yet, I find that both the gritty landscape of New York City and these delicate flowers both form an integral part of this city in a very effortless way.
