As one of our core stationery products, our photography greeting cards play a key part in our merchandise line. With that in mind, today we are offering an insight and a behind the scenes look at how our photo greeting cards came into being.

It may seem an obvious choice now, but the path to creating our photo greeting cards collection was far from clear and defined. Our path was even less clear at the beginning when we had just launched our company. Instead of manufacturing photo greeting cards, we had initially briefly doodled and muddled with the idea of producing cards that were more artistic and craft oriented in nature. This meant creating cards that featured more ornaments and embellishments and were a little more labor intensive.

However, after about one year, we realized that our hearts were just not into it. Our minds were even less enthused about the whole project. As a result, we decided to pivot and change course. We chose to stop producing these arts and crafts cards. Making the decision to stop the production of these cards was easy enough but trying to figure out what we should replace these cards with was another matter altogether. In fact, we had to briefly go back to the drawing board and start off at square one again.

Fortunately, by that point, we had already decided that we would eventually release a line of fine art photography prints featuring our own original photography. This naturally led us to ponder whether creating a line of greeting cards highlighting our own photographic images was possible. We also knew that from our previous experience that this decision would have to make commercial sense as well as be a creatively fulfilling endeavor.

Our instincts told us that we were probably on the right path, a path that would let us move forward as a company. After testing out various design styles, we finally arrived at a greeting card design prototype that made us happy. The final design showcases an original photography print of ours on the card which allows our cards to retain a slightly artisan and handmade quality. This distinctive trait also enables us to put a stamp on our brand that currently, we are a brand that creates products in small batches but are also focused on creating cards that are slightly luxurious and high in quality.

On that note, we hope that you enjoy exploring our range of greeting cards. This blog post includes a photo of one of our Everyday greeting cards featuring the lovely limelight hydrangeas flower.
