Introducing....: The Postcards Collection

The idea of adding some postcards to my stationery line came about rather organically, which is probably one of the best ways to expand a brand. Aside from greeting cards, I had always wanted to add a collection of paper goods to our stationery line. However, I came to the decision to add the postcards to my brand rather gradually and my own life experiences played a key part in the development and creation of this product line.

Postcards have always held a special place in my heart since my youth. I was an avid collector of postcards and my extensive travels to many foreign destinations only added to my burgeoning and ever-expanding postcards collection. I especially gravitated to the many postcards that were created in Europe. My extensive European postcards collection includes everything from floral images, Swiss cows, Alpine mountain scenes from the summer, snow covered Alps scenes from the winter, majestic European palaces to even images of European royalty.

Aside from collecting postcards rather obsessively, I also realized that postcards were rather a convenient tool to use when it came to sending correspondences and I dutifully sent many a postcard, and in turn received plenty in return, from my friends, family and acquaintances. It goes without saying that I appreciated the usefulness of postcards and found that they were a marvelous way to send someone a quick and heartfelt note when time was of the essence.

However, one does not have to sacrifice quality for the sake of speed and expediency when it comes to stationery products. In fact, when it came time to produce this new product for my company, I felt that it was even more important than ever that I would create postcards that were memorable, noteworthy and of good quality.

As a result, the first release of postcards, which feature my floral images, are more artisan and have a slightly textured finish compared to regular photographic postcards. It is hoped that aside from adding beauty, convenience and ease to a person’s life, the postcards will allow the recipients to take a moment from their busy days and lives to enjoy the note sent to them and that it brings a smile to their faces.
